Information We Collect
FAR/AIM Online does not require an account. Locally saved study data is not sent to an app backend. Optional website analytics is described below.
The app and website may store reading history, search history, quiz progress, flashcard progress, saved references, highlights, notes, and theme preferences locally on your device or browser.
If you export a study pack, it can include saved references, highlights, notes, reading history, and search history. You choose where the exported file is stored or shared. You can import a study pack from a file you select.
Our static website host may process standard server logs, such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp, to operate and protect the website.
Optional Website Analytics
If you choose Allow analytics, the website loads Google Analytics. It measures visits, pages viewed, traffic sources, approximate location, and browser and device categories. Google uses first-party analytics cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. It processes technical information when receiving requests.
Analytics stays off until you opt in. Declining does not affect the reference or study tools. You can change your choice using Analytics preferences in the website footer. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection and removes the analytics cookies. It does not delete information already collected.
Page URLs are sent without query strings or fragments. We do not send search terms, notes, saved references, highlights, quiz or flashcard progress, or account identifiers to Google Analytics. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled.
Your analytics choice is stored locally in your browser. This optional tracking applies to the website. The native apps do not include a Google Analytics SDK.
How We Use Information
Local study data is used to provide app features such as recent reading history, search history, saved preferences, and progress tracking.
Server logs, when processed by hosting providers, are used for website delivery, reliability, security, and abuse prevention.
Optional website analytics helps us understand which references visitors use and how they find the site.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information.
We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Hosting providers may process technical logs as needed to run the website and related infrastructure.
When you allow website analytics, Google processes the analytics information described above as our analytics provider.
Your Choices
You can clear local browser data, app data, or uninstall the app to remove locally stored study information. Delete any study-pack files you exported separately from the location where you saved them.
You can use FAR/AIM Online without creating an account.
You can decline website analytics or withdraw consent through Analytics preferences in the footer.
Security and Retention
The FAR/AIM Pro Android app does not transmit locally stored study data to FAR/AIM Online servers. The website uses HTTPS for data in transit.
We do not retain app study data on a server. Local study data remains on your device or in your browser until you clear it or uninstall the app. Website hosts may retain technical access logs for service operation and security.
Google Analytics user and event data is configured for two-month retention without extending retention when you return. Aggregated reports may remain available beyond that period.
Children
FAR/AIM Online is an aviation study reference. It is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above reflects the latest published version.
Read Google’s privacy policy for more information about its handling of analytics data.
